It’s been a while since season 1 aired. The finale aired in August 2019, then two holiday specials aired in November 2020 and January 2021.
You’ll also want to look back at what happened when season 1 ended, so you all catch up on where we left off. When the finale began, Rue was in the hospital with a kidney infection, but she recovered. Cassie is said to have had an abortion.
Maddy and Nate have a big fight because Maddy thinks Nate is bisexual and refuses to admit it. The episode shows Nate’s first big game since being presumed “innocent” following Tyler’s confession. But everyone missed the balls he threw, almost as if the receivers were deliberately trying to mess up the game for him. In the end, however, Nate won. When Nate returned home, Cal told him he had lost control, even though he had won the game in the end. He threw Nate on the ground, Nate didn’t stop crying and banged his head on the ground, screaming continuously. Cal walked away and left him alone. Viewers can hear an eerie scream and it’s unclear whether Nate is alive or dead.
During the ceremony, Kate confessed to Ethan that she only had malice towards him because she thought he would hurt her. Ethan tells her that he’s always liked her.
Fezco, meanwhile, grabs his gun so he can track Mouse. He entered the house where Mouse was staying (probably the house that
supplied Mouse’s drugs) and hit the man who was in it. When Fezco left, it was not clear if the man was still alive. When Fez returned home, Mouse was waiting for him, and Fez gave him the money he got from the person he beat up. We don’t know if Mouse will take the money or kill Fez.
At the winter ceremony, Jules texted Anna while at the same time asking Rue to “kiss and kiss” her. She doesn’t seem to really know what she wants. Rue then follows Nate outside and tells him to leave Fez and Jules alone or she will destroy his father’s life. Rue and Jules then chatted outside, and Jules confessed to being in love with Anna and Rue at the same time. But they decide to run away together and leave town. In the end, Rue couldn’t get over it and Jules boarded the train alone. Rue comes home alone and then relapses, takes drugs again. She is then shown in a haunting scene where it is unclear whether she was drugged and hallucinated or died.
